February 23 P.2 1) Fund raising for famine relief - donations and services. 2) Dart Coon Club Van. - celebrate the spring festival on Feb. 27. 3) The Public Health Dept. was asked by the Commerce dept. and Public Works dept. to investigate the conditions of restaurants in Van. The report showed that % of the restaurants' workers were E. Asians and most restaurants were hygeinic. Out of the 16 ones that did not pass, 11 were served by E. Asians. P.3 4) Chan Wing Cheun Tong - Vic. - the CBA in Vic. had organized a fund raising assoc. for drought relief with enthusiastic participation from CKT. and Hoysun H.Q. When a drama performance was put on, Chan Wing Cheun Tong in Vic. bought a ticket for $50, and the H.Q. in Van. also donated $300. 5) Lim See Ho Tong - celebrated the Spring festival on Feb. 20. 6) CKT Hammond: spring festival celebration had been held on Feb. 20, when over $40 was raised for drought relief fund. 7) CKT San Francisco H.Q. - announced that a 2nd general conference would be held on June 1 in San Francisco to discuss associational affairs and elect reps, to go back to China for administrating the 5 ancestor temple. p.3 8) CKT San Francisco H.Q. - 2nd notice was to urge the members to donate or clear all payments. 9) CKT Vic. H.Q. - repeated the 2 announcements of San Francisco H.Q. 10) CKT VIC. H.Q. - announced that: there had previeusly been a kind of annual security maintenance fee ( ) which was adopted by the Candian CKT General Convention in Dec. 14, 1919. However, during the general convention In New York in June, 1920, suggested to abolish such annual fees; he was supported by other representatives who later managed to abolish such. The CKT in Canada felt that was unfair because each local CKT had its own decision making body, and after discussing with the H.Q. in San Francisco, the regulation was reinforced. It was thus hoped that each CKT member in Canada would continue to observe the payment.
