- February 18 P.I 1) CKT - history of the Tai-Tung Bo or Kuo Man Bo in San Francisco. P.2 2) Fund raising for the famine through bazaar: report on money/donations collected. P.3 3) It was reported in an English newspaper (Van. Sun) that a Chinese theatre refused to support the fund drive by leading the theatre to a fund raising group . As a result, the Chinese boycotted the owner by refusing to enter the theatre. The owner gave way by allowing 4 free performances, but when the leader of the group refused, the owner retaliated by seeking help from thepolice who had stood in front of the theatre. The theatre re-opened despite the objections of the massive crowd which occupied the front part of teh theatre and constantly scolded those who went into the theatre. p.3 4) 1 shotgun and 5 pistols were taken from a Chinese residence. 5) CBA Victoria - helped the fund raising for famine relief. The fund raising agent ha d already requested the director and Vice director to advocate the fund drive from door to door. 4 teams were elected together with another women's team. In addition the Man Sing Club would also put on a performance.
