February 7 P.I 1 ) fund raising for famine was underway in the States, especially New Yorl. The government had tried to encourage the wealthy to promote fund drives. P.2 2) Fund raising/shipping of food for famine relief in China: a president of a flour mill said that since Chinese food produce and flour were flooded in the European markets, so it would be superfluous to export food to China. Moreover, due to the bad transportation system, food shipment might be difficult to get to the blighted area. P.3 3) On Feb. 5, police arrested 71 gamblers on Carral St., later some thought there might be someone who led thepolice to the arrest. A fight war then started on Sunday aroung Main St., Columbia and Pender. Some Chinese were badly hurt, while the others, about 500, were fighting and shouting at each other. 5 were arrested eventually. 4) Hoysun Van. - announced on Jan. 30 that the assoc. had tried to raise security funds. $1000 had been remitted to H.K. P-6 5) Hoysun Assoc. the 16th term donation. 6) Wong Kong Har Tong received the 7th term deposit fees.
