Description
February 2 P.2 1) Consul General Yip announced that there was a white man who collecated fees for filling income tax forms for the Chinese. Yip said that this man had no permit to do this. p.2-3 2) Van. Sun reported an article by a white resident living at 833 Broadway who stated that both China and India were facing the same climatic disaster and why was attention placed so heavily on China. Moreover, he questioned why the government did not pay attention to the unemployment rate in Canada and help the development within Canada first. He also stressed that many Chinese in Canada were rich and they should help their own country instead of asking help from the white community. P.3 3) Van. Sun reported that Japanese Liners had started to fire all the Chinese workers. Some whites also suggested firing Chinese crewmen on the Atlantic route.
