January 24 p.2 1) Cheng Wong Yeung long - name list of those who handed in the foundation fee ($5). 2) News from (i.e. ) - there was an explosion in a sawmill. It was suspected that the bomb was meant for 34 Chinese who took the lower paid jobs from the original Chinese workers who wanted to raise their wage and got fired. The police also suspected that the actual job was done by whites who were under the instruction of the Chinese.. p.3 3) Exclusion - news from Ottawa: there was a suggestion by (MP of B.C.) to restrict the entry of E. Asians so that all the illegitimate entries would be banned. 4) A Chinese was being robbed and beaten by 2 whites.
