December 28 P.2 1) En-Yap Tong Fok Tong - new building officially opened on Dec. 25. Sing Ping theatre donated a performance to enlighten the occasion. Guests from other associations, e.g. of Hoysun, of CPS, etc. A banquet was held and money was raised and all performances e.g. Lion dance were put on. On Dec. 28(?) ther would be a speech night. P.2 2) CRT Van. - (Wong Sun Chuk) and Low C. Yin of H.Q. were in Van. to discuss about realty development. A general meeting would be held to discuss the case. 3) 16 Chinese in Fender 121 and 128 were arrested; bail was $25 each. 4) Many British were tring to gain immigrant status to enter Canda. However, there was an immigration regulation allowing only those with $250xrn gain entry. The British government would like to negotiate and cancel such restrictive law in 1921 springtime. 5) News from Ottawa_- anti restrictive cttee H.Q. in Toronto sent a letter to the Chinese organizations in Ottawa. They stated that Chinese were discri inated ag- ainst due to the weakeness of the Chinese government. After the organizations received the letter, they distributed circulars and held a general meeting on Dec. 6, in Kuomingtang where many attended. The constitution and the letter from the H.Q. was read out. Vice Ambassador Chiu was asked to give a speech on the case about employment of female whites. They lastly decided to establish a branch in Ottawa in order to bring upon unification of all Chinese in Ottawa. 6) CRT H.Q. - the Vice Chow Sing thanked CKT H.Q. in San Francisco, Victoria, and also Co. for giving him a gold medal and a fiarewell. He had returned to China by now. 7) Reading Room in Vic. would extend itsopening day on Jan. 9.
