- December 3 P.I 1) Chinese National Goods Exhibition - article on merit of having such an exhibition. P.3 2) CKT H.Q. Wong and Ng sent letter to thank the CKT in Nanaimo. They hoped the Chinese in Nanaimo would donate generously for the 5-ancestor temple. They were glad that in the past 2 years, there were so many CKT. founded in various areas, they hoped that such sentiment would go on. 3) Ottawa: new immigration law would enfore an order to discourage entry due to high unemployment in Canada. Previously all skillful workers who possessed $50 ganadian were allowed to enter, now it was $250. The new immigration law (a) all new immigrants had t^o possess $250 extra Canadian when entering Canada (b) all relatives of the immigrant had to possess $250 extra, when they were under, $50. The above law would be enforced on Dec. 15 in the prairie provinces, and Jan.l 1921 in the coast provinces. 4) CKT H.Q. - name list of executive candidates. 5) Bart Coon Club Van. - would have 2nd anniversary party on Dec. 5. 6) - 3rd competition was out, all entries would be assessed by Mr. Ng the ex-chairman of the Hoysun Association in San Francisco. 7) Sing Ping Theatre put on more attaactions. 8) Wong Kong Har Tong - the deadline for Pak Tze Hui would be Dec. 31. 9) CKT Van. candidates for various posts were election Dec. 1, the final election would be Dec. 15. 10) Western Canning Co- Oakland - announced that 2 agents were sent to recruit share- holders. Since the situation in Kwong Dong had Improved, the co. would like to start a ranch in Canton to prosper the social and commercial development. It was hoped that all Chinese in Canada would assist the company. P.7 11) CKT H.Q. - would like to collect donation books for desolate member in Revelstoke. The member in Reveolstoke thanked CKT since he had got enough donations to return to China on Dec. 16.
