December 2 P.I 1) Hoysun Assoc. H.Q. - articel by Hoysun school principal in China to comment on the school establishment. In 1915, who was a teacher in Vic. visited Hoysun district and regreted that there was no reasonable secondary school for the students. Thus when he returned to Canada, he tried to set up funds for the school. Due to the war, the fund drive was frozen and it was finally activated in 1919, within a short time, over $200,000 was raised. P.2 2) Asian Queen would arrive with 1090 passengers and large quantities of silk. P.3 3) New s from Saskatoon: 15 Chinese were arrested for smoking illegal drugs. 5 who sold drugs sere fined $200. 4) Sing Ping Theatre - Van. - put on 2 performances on Dec. 2; all actresses from China. P.3 5) CBA Van. - announced on Nov. 25 that all furniture in the association was donated by various Chinese during the opening ceremony. In 1916, during the presidency of Mr. Tsang ( ) he had lost quite a lot of furniture, such as chairs and tables through lending to various clubs or drama societies. Now the associatin had been renovated, and the association was still willing to lend "antique" furniture to various associations. However, the New Republic Paper spread rumors that CBA was unwilling to lend furniture to a drama society. The CBA would like to clear this rumour, and accuse the New Republic newspaper of making trouble.
