November 4 P.2 1) The Immigration office in Vic. gave notice stating that 8 Chinese crewman onboard the El Lobo liner had escaped and took refuge in Victoria. $100 award would be given to anyone who would fetch any escapees. The recapture escapees would be each submitted to $500 fine or 1 year imprisonment _ and deportation. P.3 2) Public Hospital fund raising bureau in New West: announced on Oct. 30 that they had alreadh consulted the H.Q. in the States and received orders to keep donations in the bank because drafting money to H.Q. cost $17 more for each $100.
