October 23 P2-3 1) Dr. Lee S.F., representing Canton to raise $ for Kwong long Hospital held dinner for Chinese reps., Consul General Yip, , etc. Over $3500 was raised: $500; $1000. p.3 2) CBA Van. - announced that 2 agents Thorn and Lau from Oakland XU1 Company would be in Van. recruiting shareholders. Consul General Yip and they would give a speech day about business in China and fruit company Oct.24 at Sing Ping Theatre, p.3 3) A Chinese laundryman was charged with working after 6 p.m. The case was dropped because the laundryman was not dealing with customers. 4) CKT Quebec - supported the fund drive for Kwong Tong crisis. Over $100 raised. 5) A new Hong Kong-Van, liner was opened for Chinese. Agents , , 6) A clan member thanked fellow clan members and friends for subsidizing his ship fare back to China.
