Description
October 9 p.3 5) A white man was fined $250 or 6 months in prison for posession of cocaine. A Chinese was fined $100 for the same offense. 6) Kelowna news - a Chinese merchant in Kelowna sent an English newspaper (Sept.30) to Chinese Times as evicence that the Chinese there were being discriminated against. The white community had distributed a circular to call a meeting to discuss the merits and defects of Chinese in Canadian communities. There were over 500 participants in the meeting; the mayor was also present. P.3 7) CKT , Ontario - donated $39 for Chinese Times financial assistance. The donation came from admission fees and donation by president.
