Description: August 7 p.3 1) A Chinese was fined $100 or 3 months imprisonment for possession of opium. A whiteman was punished similarly for buying cocaine. 2) Chiness Workers Union - aimed at educational promotion. Now it offered a language course, speech making club, and Chinese night school. 3) Hoysun Assoc. Vic. - sent reps, to Van. to assist the executives in raising funds for the school. They went door to door fund raising on July 1 which resulted in $3000.
