- April 22 P.3 1) Children's Protection Association held a meeting to discuss the drug issue. They decided the following:(a) to praise the Van. Sun for its attack on the evil drug sellers in Chinatown; (b) to appeal to Ottawa for more severe punishment on the sellers, e.g. deportation; (c) to build building for drug addicts. "TJZS V" The Chinese Times would like the Chinese merchants to be e of such actions enforced by Children's Protection Association. 2) CKT Nanaimo announced that money was needed to send a desolate Chinese back to China. 3) Wong Kong Har Tong Van. - the association was trying to buy a building to add to the associational property, rice for building was $61,750; $5,750 depositwas paid on March, 17, and within 30 days another $80. Then within 60 days $8,000. The remaining $40,000 would be given over 8 years with $5000/yr. The deal was in process and the association needed money to complete the deal It was decided a Pak Tze Hui would be wet up with $10/share, in addition each member was required to pay $5 fixed donation. The constitituion of Pak Tze Hui was posted for reference.
