March 25 P.2 1) C.P.O.S. Ship Russian Queen (Czarina) would be arriving in Van. March 29. Onboard there would be 500 Chinese passengers and 350 tons Chinese silk. 2) A Chinese was arrested because of possession of narcotics; he was not allowed bail. It was reported that the Chinese was the head of an organization with 15 men selling. He also made a contact with his men stating that if they were in prison, he would offer then $2.50/day. It was thought the Chinese had various agencies in Chinatown. 3) CKT Victoria - received 2 letters from , who had returned to China for preparation of 5-ancestor temple in Canton. He hoped that C.K. Associations in Canada would try to raise more funds for establishment. He expected that once enough money was raised, the association should report the amount and select a rep. to go back to China to assist with establishment. He also said that once the temple was established, it would operate realty development and schools. An office was established in Canton and all returning Chinese were welcome to visit him. 4) CKT Medicine Hat: announced on March 25 that the first anniversary party would be held on April 18 when the new Wah Ying reading Room would open.
