March 18 p.2 1) Hoysun Association Van. announced on March 18 that the executives of the Vic. Hoysun Association would be in Van. on March 20 to discuss the school establish- ment with the Hoysun members. A general meeting would be held on March 20 in CBA so that all proposals could be amended and exercised. p.3 2) a Japanese reported to the police that he had lost $200 in a gambling joint in Chinatown, but when the police went to search the house, there was no ev- idence of gambling. It was speculated that the Japanese was tying to frame the Chinese due to degenerating friendship between the 2 countries. 3) A Kai-district member thanked Consul General Yip because he was able to collect $1000 insurance fund for his dead brother even though his lawyer was unable to do it.
