Description
March 3 P.3 1) Shingle Workers: in a large Shingle Factory near Vancouver, the wages of each Chinese worker was distributed by a Chinese foreman (Sun ); however, Sun took a part of the worker's wage. His intrigue was finally discovered by the workers who demanded payment directly from the boss wthout going through the foreman. Their demand was granted and starting in March, they were no longer under the monetary control of the foreman. 2)News from Ottawa: last year the government had ordered that Chinese workers who returned to China before March 31 would have freedom of entry into Canada within 1 year of armistice proclaimed by Canada. Ambassador Yeung also applied for a relaxation of the time limit for those who left after April 1. It was reported that the issue would be discussed, but at the present time all Chinese had to abide by the law set in 1919. 3)The Blue Tunnel ship announced that the mission of transporting Chinese war- workers back to China had already accomplished and the ship would accomodate ordinary Chinese passengers starting April. 4)CKT IN : Executive list: President.
