vice: February 23 P.3 1) Ever since July 1919, Chinese workers who served in France were gradually being sent back to China through Chnada. C.P.O.S., Blue Tunnel, etc. already sent over 50,000 workers back. It was expected that by March 1920, all Chinese workers would be hack in China. The British Government had decided to employ Panama Canal route for transportation of remaining workers because it was cheaper. 2) CKT : admission ceremony held Feb. 21. conducted ceremony. 3) , , and 700 passengers on Asian Queen back to China sent letter to all overseas Chinese on Jan.22. They said they were on board the ship which left Van. Dec. 22. When they neared Japan, a few patriotic passengers and crewmen gave speeches to persuade the Chinese passengers to boycott Japan due to the Shantung crisis. Many Chinese did buy Japanese goods in Japan when they docked, but angry Chinese passengers threw goods overboard. The Japanese policemen took action and molested the Chinese passengers who retaliated and fought back the police. This incident seemed to be occuring frequently with other ships with Chinese passengers. It was thus hoped that all returning Chinese would boycott the Japanese goods.
