- February 12 P.3 1) 3 Chinese sent petition to city council condemning sanitary conditions in Chinese theatres. Wanted City Council to do something about this. 2) Hoysun Assoc Vic - Secondary school fund drive was very successful - $35,000 from Vancouver, and Victoria. Donation books to be published for effecient donation. Locality members made donations, too; Kai-ping, for example. 3) association had tried to set up twice and spent quite a lot of donation money.New York association had tried to help, also. Now the association p.3 3) continued: would like to set up again and perhaps members from all over Canada would donate. p.2 4) Dr. Hiu ( ), rep. from China, was going to Washington B.C. for the Inter- national Labourers Association. While in Vancouver, he gave a speech to the white merchants on Feb. 10 re prospects of commercial intercourse with China. p.2 5) The Chinese Time would have a holiday on Feb. 13 for North and South Unification Day.
