February 10 p.l 1) Hoysun Assoc. - article discussing school establishment. The generous donors were praised and also , and for their enthusiasm because they were not member of Hoysun district. p.2 2) CKT Van. announced on Feb. 10 an admission ceremony would be held Feb. 14. The elder members who wanted to recommend "new blood" should send in names to the secretary. P.3 3) Dart Coon Club Calgary: opening ceremony on Feb. 2. Banquet on Feb. 5th. Prom- inent white guests attended - mayor, reps, from five departments and police department, counsellor, magistrate and so on. The chaLrman of the banquet was , and the interpreter was who gave a speech on the aims od the Dart Coon Club (i.e. to strengthen the CKT). The mayor also gave a speech glorifying the Chinese reisdents due to their benevolent activities in the dist- rict (such as helping oldsters and needy and buying the Canadian government bonds). 4) Winnipeg - 62 Chinese were arrested for opening opium dens, smoking it, operating gambling joints and gambling. P.11 5) Public Hospital fund raising bureau in Vancouver gave a name list of donors. The highest donation was $ 15, the lowest $2.
