- January 21 P.I 1) A report of ttudent strike in Canton (Jan 22 Pl-2). P.2 2) Chinese hawkers issues would be discussed in the City Council. The lawyer who represented the Chinese claimed that if the hawkers still went on strike, the price of general provisions would increase because the hawkers usually offered lower prices. He reported that the hawker would rather insist on forsaking their business than pay the $50 license tax. P.3 3) CKT Kelowna: held opening ceremony Jan.3. There were reps, from various branches e.g. and from H.Q. and gave speeches about general con- vention, from Van., Nanaimo, Chilliwack, the Chinese Times, New Westminster, Dart Coon Club and Pei Ying Club. 4) CKT Vic. - announced on Jan.21 that a preliminary meeting wuld be held for the Sam Hap Co. ( ) on Jan.24. 5) CKT San. Francisco went back there on Jan.20. Two farewell parties were held for him by H.Q. and Dart Coon Club. 6) CKT Chilliwack - announced on Jan.17 that was murdered on a farm. The CKT would award $500 to one who could capture the murdered and be a witness in court.
