- January 12 P.2 1) CKT Van. announced on Jan. 12 that the association would admit new members on Jan. 17 if the senior members would like to recommend any "new blood". They had to register at the secretary's first. p.3 2) A Chinese was killed in a car accident. The driver (Peterson) of the car was arrested because he did not report the accident immediately to police. He was later released. The case would be brought to court. (Jan.14 P.3 - driver was released). P.3 3) Ambassador Yeung in Ottawa announced on Jan. 7 that he received a telegram which stated the crisis in Fu Chow where the students had an open conflict with the Japanese residents was over. A peace conference was held and the Japanese fleet had also withdrawn. Also the __________ issues were also being negotiated. Ambassador Yeung thus hoped the Chinese residents would not make any mistakes about the situation. 4) CKT Hammond: It was opened on Dec. 6; thanked all those donors. 5) Kai-district, Woo Clan security bureau fund raising H.Q. ( ). The fund raising H.Q. had already raised funds for the home district ($5 from each clan member). Now a second fund drive was called to relieve the Woo Clan members at home.
