- Description
- July 23. Wed. P.3 The term of the C.B.A. executives would be terminated on August 15. During a meeting on July 20, the executives decided to use the locality representation method to choose the new executives. 5 official representatives from each of the following districts: (with 5 auxiliary representatives from each one.) 4 Official representatives each from and (with the same numbers of auxiliary). 2 official representatives from each of the following: (with the same number of auxiliary). The total number would be 44. The individual district associations were allowed to choose their way of electing representatives but they had to hand in the names to the C.B.A. before August 1st. 2. The executives of the tong in Regina sent a letter to encourage fund raising for buying back the association building in Victoria. It was reported that the $3,000 raise was insufficient to clear the debt and it was decided that if money was not raised within the next 2 weeks, all funds would be redistributed to the donors with consequent loss of the building. The members in Regina had already donated a few hundred dollars, and it was hoped that more could be raised.
