Description
July 17. Thursday P.3 1. A group of Chinese crewmen on board a British official steamship were being discriminated against by the Returning Soldiers Association. The Association demanded that the ship replace the Chinese crewmen with the returning soldiers. It even appealed to the Minister of Marine Affairs; it also made a threat by stating that it would send a protest to the longshoremen in England and France so that they would not unload the goods onboard that ship when it arrived at either England or France (+ August 2, P.3 -- however, the white men failed in their discriminatory activities because the ship was now rented by a private company.
