May 31st. Saturday P.3 1. Last month when a steamer of C.P.O.S. arrived at Vancouver, there was a student (16 years old) who wanted to pay the head tax for entry. a However, the immigration office asserted that he was not/genuine student and he was thus refused entry. It was intended that he be deported on May 29, but his friends were able to retain him for appeal. There was another 15 year old student who was refused entry into Canada. He was retained in the Immigration Office while his brother appealed to the government in Ottawa. However, when the brother had succeeded in getting permission for his student brother to enter Canada, the student had already been deported on May 29. 2. The C.K.T. in Victoria had already sent out 2 representatives to go/the East for raising funds. Recently on May 27, 8 other representatives were chosen to collect the registered donations that had not been received since the last donation by the 3 representatives.
