- Description
- May 26. Monday P.3 1. A brief introduction of 2 Chinese U.B.C. graduates. 2. The Dominion Park ( ) in Montreal was opened in May. There were games and entertainments set up for the public. There was one booth which introduced the "Chinatown Hell" showing many disgraceful Chinese wax characters. The C.B.A. immediately appealed to Ambassador Yeung so that he could negotiate the case with the mayor. The C.B.A. representatives also went to the City Council to argue against the exhibition. Since Ambassador Yeung was successful in prohibiting the wax exhibition in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Toronto and Ottawa, in 1918, the City Council in Montreal also prohitibted the wax exhibition in Dominion Park.
