May 2nd, Friday P.3 1. The Asian Queen Steamer had started its journey back to the East. On board, there were over 100 Chinese newcomers who were not permitted to enter Canada. There were 67 Chinese who were still detained at the immigration office waiting for appeal to gain entry. There were also 36 Chinese 'students' sent back to the East on board a Japanese steamer (+ May 3, P.3 the department head of the immigration office had mistakenly put more than 10 Chinese on board the Asian Queen steamer. Those Chinese had already got permits to stay for appeal for gaining entry.) 2. A Company ( ) was set up to develop and benefit the commercial development in the Orient.
