Description: April 1st, Tuesday P.3 1. The 1,000 Chinese shingle factory workers were still on strike. They had fought for a whole month to protest against the reduction of salaries. A speech day was held on March 31st in Theatre where they decided not to give in to the management. They thought that such collective behavior among the Chinese workers was the 1st time in the history of the overseas Chinese. The winning of their demand was essential.
