- March 19. Wed. United P.3 1. A special school was set up by the/B.C. Shingle Workers Association to teach the returning soldiers sawmill techniques. There were already 10 . students enrolling in the school. The teacher asserted that when they graduated, they could replace the Chinese workers. A few factories which were closed down due to the strike by the Chinese workers were re-opened for business. However, there was only 1/2 the workers returning to work. 2. and were the representatives from the headquarter to raise funds. They were in Kelowna on March 14. They helped establish a C.K.T. in Kelowna and elected the temporary executives. 14 new members were admitted immediately.
