- March 18th. Tuesday ~ P. 2 A report of the court hearing of . Many documents, correspondences and pictures taken from the Kuomintang offices were brought to court for evidence against P.2-3 News from Ottawa: The Immigration Department decided to forbid Chinese workers from entering Canada so that the excessive Chinese workers would not exploit the job opportunities of the returning soldiers. However, they allowed the following categories to gain entry: a) Chinese students below 16 years old who could pay the head tax. The head tax would be given back to them when they got into 1st year university. b) Farmers who were not skillful technicians. They must prove to the Canadian immigration officers upon arrival that they were genuine and knowledgable c) Those students who had already got the permits from the Immigration Department.
