March 7, Friday P.I was returning to China. P.2-3 2. The managers of Canadian shingle factories had decided to reduce the salaries of the Chinese workers starting in March. 2? was deducted from every 1,000 pieces of shingles for the machine operators. For those who packed shingles, 10 had to be deducted for every 1,000 pieces, and for general labourers, 10c was deducted from every dollar of their salaries. As a result, over 800 Chinese workers went on strike. They said that they would not return to work unless they were paid f.-i their original rate. P.3 3. The CBA, the Hoysun Association and other locality associations had sent and to various places to collect ancestor bones for shipment to China. This bone shipment was carried out every 10 years, and they still had some undone work in Vancouver, New Westminster and where many tombstones in the graveyard were ruined. It was thus hoped that the relatives might go to the graveyards, and mark their ancestors' tombs so as to prevent confusion. 4. and of denounced the Kuomintang on March 7.
