- Description
- Feb. 26. P.3 P.3 1. News from Winnipeg: Since some of the soldiers who were in the Chinese restaurants might talk and sit with female white waitresses, the police thought that it was demoralizing. They thus proposed to the provincial legislature the prohibition of female white employment by Chinese employers. The Chinese merchants held a meeting in the C.B.A. and requested Ambassador Yeung to negotiate the case. Ambassador Yeung was in Winnipeg on February 17 to discuss the matter with the merchants.
