- December 16 P.I 1) An article on the conflict between the Kuomingtang and the Ghee Kong Tong. P.2 2) The Ghee Kong Tong held a meeting on Dec.14, to introduce 9 new members. The 2 made speeches to glorify the Ghee Kong Tong and to introduce the new admission regulations. The meeting was concluded by having theold and new members bow to each other 3 times. P.3 3) The secretaries of the Chee Kong Tong would assume office on January 1 of each year. 2 secretaries, one English and o ne Chinese were elected on Dec. 15th. P.3 4) The Police chief in Vancouver ( ) had sent out a 50-man team to search various illegal organizations in Chinatown. Their aim was to sweep out any organizations connected to the Kuomingtang. The places being searched were , , , . Many documents, pictures, safes, and ammunition were being confiscated. 3 men were arrested, one was , who was a VIP in Kuomingtang. 5) There were reports on Dec. 14 P.3 that 13 illegal organizations in Victoria were being searched and presently, policemen were sent to guard the New Republic Newspaper Agency, photographer, bar, and Documents and mail were being taken by the police. 6) News from Victoria: The B.C. premier ( ) requested the CNR constructdon company to fire the Chinese workers and replace them with white workers. The provincial Labour department also sent a protest against the employment of white workers.
