Septeber 9 .3 1) The Sun Ning Railway limited announced on August 1 that there would be an election for the board of directors ( ) on Dec. 1. Those who held more than $1000 worth of shares were qualified to be elected into the board, those with 20 shares ($100) were dlowed to vote. Those who held less than 20shares could join with other minor shareholders to vote. Ml 2) The Overseas Chinese in Saskatoon were against the white community who set up an exhibition of 'Chinese Hell1 (Wax models which imitated Chinese opium smokers or gamblers or other disgraceful characters.) in the agricultural exhibition. The Chinese thus set up a committee to raise funds to fight for the abolishment of this exhibit. The largest amount donated $10, the lowest was $1, and they were able to raise $308.50. There were 8 external affair reps. e.g. , etc. 2 treasurers, 2 secretaries and 8 fund collecting agents. A A meeting held August 18. Among the Chinese community to decide upon the management of the funds raised. It was eventually decided to store the money in the bank under the name of Kuomingtang and Youth association and Overseas Chinese Reading Room. The remaining funds could be used for fighting against any further restrictive laws, however, themoney could only be used the decision was made a£ by Chinese residents in Saskatoon.
