Description
September 5 3 1) Hoysun Association announced on Sept. 2nd that the new executives were elected on Sept. 1 and they would assume office on Sept. 8th. 2) a more detailed and accurate report on *s assassination. It was reported that both *s employee and Ambassador Wong were also being chased by the murderer. Several shots were aimed at Ambassador Wong and he had only a narrow escape by hiding in a hotel. 3 3) Ambassador Yeung reported on August 30 that the chief Canadian immigration office had announced the exemption of all Chinese residents (whether they wre Canadian citizens or not) from enlistment. 4) The wax model exhibition in various Saskatchewan agricultural competition-grounds had insulted the Chinese community. Ambassador Yeung had negotiated with the mayors of Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa to prohibit the exhibition of any disgraceful Chinese wax models during the agricultural exhibition. The Prime Minister even promised Yeung that he would forbid any exhibition that would endanger the good friendship between Canadian and Chinese residents.
