- September 3 .2 1) News from Victoria: when the ex-education;minister of China was in Victoria on Sept. 1, he was assassinated. At 7:30 p.m., was on Fisguard Street, in front of , and he was shot once in the head and twice in the body by , who ran away and killed himself. .2-3 2) A report on Van. Chee Kong Tong on the celebration of the 5-ancestors remembrane day on August 31st. The acceptance ceremony of the and the introduction of new members on August 31st, and also the celebration or welcoming banquet on Sept. 1st. .3 3) The City Council ordered that all Chinese vegetables stores had to give in a report of their business; the cost and price of their goods before Sept. 5th. (Previously there was a report that the Chinese vegetable sellers had raised the price of vegetables which would influence the meat-fasting activity during war times. 4) A picture of was posted. It was reported that had arrived in Victoria on August 30, and he was warmly welcomed. On Sept. 1, he was invited to a banquet by the clan members. Ambassador Wong, 's employee, and were also present. Later, Wong even accompanied to his hotel after the banquet. But when they were passing , came to walk with and shot him 3 times. Later, he even tried to shoot Ambassador Wong who ran for his life. It was stated that and had been the recent heroes of the Chee Kong Tong who appealed to the agriculture and commerce department for recognising Chee Kong Tong as an official society. In addition they had asked for the establishment of an ancestor temple in Canton. The general convention on April 1st in San Francisco was a meeting to recruit members and discuss the estabalishment of the temple. It was thus hoped that all the members could help the establishment by giving generaous donations.
