Description
August 24 3 1) was collecting exit fees for Hoysun Assoc. He gave an account of the money he collected. 2) Ambassador Wong had protested against the 'tour in Chinatown'exhibition on August 22nd. The mayor thus went to inspect and close down the booth on August 23rd.. The Chinese community was really pleased because in the past, there were similiar exhibition which were not suppressed by the authorities. The Mayor now ordered that no such disgraceful exhibition could be carried out in the future. 3) The Chee Kong Tong in Victoria also set aside August 31st as the day to celebrate the 5-ancestor remembrance day.
