Description: August 5 .3 1) Ambassador Yeung announced that all branch-bureaus for issuing Chinese Nationality certificates had already been closed on July 31, and on August, the Canadian government had started inspection of nationalities of residents. If anyone wanted to apply for certificates, they could go directly to the head embassy. 2) Ambassador Wong and went to Cumberland on July 23 to sign the nat- ionality certificates in the branch. Ambassador Wong then made speeches about the essential possession of the certificates. In addition, he encouraged the Chinese to learn English to have better job opportunities.
