July 25 .3 1) The Hoysun Association ( ) had already planned to select representatives for service in CBA. The 9 executives (there were orig- inally 10, but one had left for China) together with 11 elected enthusiastic metiers would be the candidates for the election of representatives on July 28. Of the 20 candidates, 5 reps, would be elected. In addition 5 other auxiliary reps, (according to popularity votes) would also be chosen to replace any official representatives who were not able to attend the meetings. 3 2) Association would hold a meeting on July 25 in Reading Room to decide on a good election method fo reps, to CBA. There were 2 proposals; (a) Since the association consisted of majority of members from and , it would then have one rep from each district. Also three dedicated representatives would be elected from other districts. The names of these 5 reps, would be sent to CBA for election; (b) to elect 6 members to prepare for election of reps. These 6 reps, would elect 10 dedicated and enthus- iastic candidates who would be voted on by all district members. 3) had already elected 4 reps, to CBA election by method of recom- mendation. 4) A Chinese was charged with vagrancy and he was fined $50 or 2 months in prison enen though he protested that he had a job.
