p.2 1) The Chee Kong Tong (Van.) announced on July 23 that a general meeting would be held to elect the p.3 2) The teacher of the . CPS in Victoria ( ) was in Vancouver and was «armly welcomed by his clan association ( ). Speeches were made and there was a decision to set up a communication centre. 3) 10 Chinese were arrested in a club and charged with vagrancy (bail set at $50). 4) a Chinese was charged with storing liquor. He was fined $50 or 1 month in prison. 5) Ambassador Wong and arrived in Victoria on July 20 to sign and issue the Nationality certificates. During a banquet held forthem, Ambassador Wong made a speech to stress the importance of the Nationality certificate; later made a speech on the future Chinese franchise and the possibility of being enlisted. Speeches were also made by and other guests. (July 26 P.3.
