July 23 p.2 1) A report of the meeting on July 21 to discuss the voting system. p.3 2)A sub association of Ghee Kong Tong (Van.) Society was going to be set up. A temporary staff committee was elected to prepare the necessary procedures. (The announcement was posted on July 23rd.) 3) 27 Chinese gamblers were arrested in 3 Fender Street. They were charged with vagrancy and each was bailed out at $50. 4) A Chinese was arrested in front of a store and he was also charged with vagrancy. 5) The deadline for applying for Chinese Nationality certificates was July 28th. (The announcement was posted on July 22 by the Nationality sub-bureau.
