Description
July 15 p. 3 1) News from Montreal: Ambassador Yeung was in Montreal on July 6 to sign all the passports or Chinese Nationality certificates for the applicants. There were already 4-500 certificates issued, but Yeung suspected that he would issue 500 more in Montreal in the future. Yeurtg would be in Toronto on the 15th , and on July 20th, he would go to Winnipeg. It was reported that many had applied for the certificates by mail. The CBA and Chamber of Commerce in Montreal showed their appreciation to Yeung's dedicated work by holding banquets for him. 2) The Chee Kong H.Q. in Victoria announced on July 2nd that starting from July 1 all Chee Kong Associations had to follow the new constitution in admitting new members. That is, the local association should decide upon the amount of foundation fee plus $2 fee to H.Q. in Victoria, and $1.50 to H.Q. in San Francisco. 3) June report of debits and credits of CBA.
