- March 25 P.2 1) The Chee Kong Tong in Victoria had sent the principal representatives of the Chee Kong Tong in Canada to attend the San Francisco convention. P2-3 2) The Chinese community was enthusiastic in topics like 'economy1 and 'realty' the CBA in Vancouver thus set up a speech day on March 24 for the discussion of economy in China. , the representative of the Hong Kong Bank of Merchants was invited to give a talk on the topic. also talked on Overseas Chinese and banking development (p.l). was also asked to talk on the same topic. There were more than 100 attendants. 3) Reading Room of the Chee Kong Tong in Van. held a speech night on March 24th. 4) The manager of the Sun newspaper sent a request to Ambassador Wong for publishing a Chinese supplement to improve the relationship between the Chinese and white merchants. The manager would like to gain approval from the Chinese merchants as well as from Ambassador Wong. Wong consented to the requestion on March 22. 5) already sent an article to the Vancouver Sun on March 3 to discuss the merits of having the Japanese supplement in the Sun. He personally would like to have a Chinese supplement to spread Chinese nationalism. was really pleased to know that Ambassador Wong consented to the request of the Sun. P.10 6) of Chee Duck Tong defended himself as an honest member. In ad- , he attacked that there were bad elements in the association.
