Description
p.3 1) The Ghee Kong Tong in Nanaimo had already planned to establish a reading room during thespring festival feast and presently, the reading room was near com- pletion and the name would be reading room. 2) In Toronto, a Chinese was treated in a mental hospital. Since there was a law that immigrant mental patients had to be deported, Ambassador Yeung had claimed $400 head tax for that patient. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Toronto was thus asked to investigate the origin of the patient so that the head tax could be sent back to the family.
