- March 11 P.3 1) News from Saskatchewan: Ambassador Yeung had arrivd in Regina to discuss the prohibition of Chinese employment of white females. The Saskatchewan authorities said that since the law had been valid for sometime, it would not be abolished, instantly. However, if the Chinese restaurants were operating morally and of disciplinary, they could employ white females after thorough investigation by the .authorities. Nevertheless, relaxation of the laws could only be taken after the proposal was passed in provincial legislature. Ambassador Yeung had been in Winnipeg to discuss the case of closing down of all Chinese restaurants with no motel accommodation in small towns and villages in Ontario. Yeung negotiated with the authorities and the harsh law was changed. The new law was that those Chinese restaurants in villages with no accommodation were not allowed to serve beer. 2) The 2nd graduation ceremony for Chinese senior primary Chinese school in Van. More than 200 participants. Speeches were made by reps, from CBA, Chee Kong H.Q., , , the New Republic Newspaper, ; etc.
