- Description
- February 28 Chee Kong Headquarter paid for the burial expenses of a very old member. Money left from the burial expenses was given to bereived family. The King Fook Society ( )54l Carrall Street announced that the society was dependent upon the profits made in exchanging and drafting money for the clan members. The society was able to use theprofit to establish a hospital and a reading room in the district to benefit the members. However, there were bad members who spread the rumor that there could be individual exchange and drafting of money without going through the society. The society thus announced on Feb. 27 that drafting money back to the district had to go through the Ring Fook Exchange in Canton. It further warned that the district members had to obey the constitution of the society.
