Description: February 16 . .3 1) the Daily News in Toronto reported that Ambassador Yeung sent a warning to the Toronto City Council because there was a law which prohibited issuing business licenses to those who were not of British subjects or Canadian born. Ambassador Yeung said that such a law was only an unreasonable and unlawful act to force Chinese to become British subjects. The mayor personally agreed with Ambassador Yeung and eventually, the law was repealed.
