February 13 P.2 1) in Vancouver announced on Feb. 5 that a meeting had laready been held on Feb. 3 to discuss the shipment of bones to China (one shipment every 10 years). Since all theother localities had started to prepare for shipment, the would like to raise more funds for such activities. An aacount for the credits and debits would be posted in the future. 2) News from Toronto: there was a proposal to issue licenses only to Canadian citizens and British subjects. The Chinese in Toronto became desperate and on Jan. 29th, the president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce telephoned Ambassador Yeung for help. Ambassador Yeung immediately went to Toronto on Jan. 30th to discuss the case with the Chamber of Commerce. On Jan. 31, he went to city council and argued the case with the mayor and also the head of the license commtee. It was rported in the English newspaper in Toronto fehat quite a few eldermen were against such a restriction. Ambassador Yeung would stay in Toronto until Feb. 6 for a meeting in the City Council. He hoped to over-role the restrictive laws.
