Description
January 18 p.3 1) The United Fruit Producers Association held a 28th anniversary party during which they discussed the issue of allowing E. Asian farm workers to enter Canada. The vote was 33 to 5. They planned to appeal to the Canadian government to allow entry of E. Asian farm workers during the war period. 2) The CBA in Victoria announced on Jan. 17 that the Public Health Service sent a letter to warn that the Chinese residential areas were mostly non-hygenic and dirty. It was hoped that all Chines commercial as well as residential areas should be cleaned up for public health inspection.
