He said that there were some irrational members in the Chinese community who were too concered with party and association membership and neglected their duties P. 2 1) as Chinese citizens. Lim hoped that the Ghee Kong Tong, and the Chinese Republic Party (the more conservative and close knitted associations) should cooperate and give direction for the advancement of the Chinese community.
