- November 19th, Monday, P. 3 1. Ambassador Yeung announced on Nov. 12th that he had tried his best to fight for a longer time limit for being absent from Canada for the Chinese workers. He hoped that the C.B.A. would spread the news to the Chinese community so that they might not be so desperate. 2. The Province Newspaper had reported on Nov. 17th that Ambassador Lim in Vancouver would be transferred to New Zealand in December and Lim suspected i^, that p$ ;/ itf), (Liu) an employee in the embassy / /«, vif\ /'* ? would take over his position. 3. The C.B.A. in Victoria had supported the sale of the Canadian government bonds by sending 2 well known merchants for door to door sales. They were able to recruit more than $7000 for the government bonds. 4. The Chinese Community in Winnipeg had prepared to set up a C.B.A. in Winnipeg for 5-6 months. The stores had also given $30 for the foundation fees and each individual member had also given the annual fee. The representatives of the stores had decided to open the C.B.A. on Nov. 19th. However, the treasurer had failed to renovate the office space for the association, he just ignored the demand of the association and remained inactive.
